Winton W. Bauman, 95, of Westfield Center passed peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2020 at Danbury Woods in Wooster after a period of declining health.
Winton was born Nov. 23, 1924 in Sterling to the late Edmond and Thelma (Griner) Bauman and served in the U.S. Army during WW II having been in the Medical Detachment of the 2nd Engineer Battalion. He retired from Morton Salt in Rittman and had made his home in Sterling later moving to Southern Ohio. He had made his home in Westfield Center for the past seven years. Winton attended the Free Will Baptist Church and he always enjoyed mowing the yard and shinning up his cars and his equipment which he took great pride in.
Surviving are his children, Linda (Tom) Landis of Westfield, Dennis Bauman of Wooster and Roger Bauman of Wooster; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; step-sons, Albert Napier, James Napier and Larry Napier; a brother, Wade Bauman of Dalton; sisters, Winona (Ray) Morrison, and Waldene “Mary” Levers both of Wooster, Wavalene Epling of Arizona and Phyllis (Robert) Pfaff of Bucyrus and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel in 2013 his parents and sisters, Wanda and Wanita.
Services for the immediate family and military honors will be conducted at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
