Wilma Davis Obituary

Wilma Ann Davis, 80, of Wooster, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday evening, Jan. 15, 2021 at the Apostolic Christian Home after a battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Wilma was born Oct. 6, 1940 in Prichard, WV to the late Dallas and Garnett (Fowler) Staley.  She graduated from Buffalo High School in Kenova and did her training in Huntington to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.  She worked for over 20 years for Dr. John Pappas and later for Dr. Harry Pappas in Wadsworth.  On Dec. 19, 1959 she married Joe C. Davis and they had made their home in Sterling where they raised their daughters and later lived in Burbank before moving to Wooster.  Wilma was a member of North Life Baptist Church in Wooster and had been a longtime member of the former Grace Brethren Church in Sterling.  She loved the Lord and her church families.  Wilma was an avid quilter and seamstress and was known for her famous chocolate fudge.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Joe; daughters and sons-in-law, Leighsa and Dean Klinger of Wooster, Lilah and Richard Reichley of West Chester, OH and Luanna and David Dotterer of Rittman; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a brother and sister-in-law, Franklin and Mary Ellen Staley of Canton.

Private family services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 19th at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Harley Snode officiating.  Burial will be in Rittman Cemetery.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com  Memorial contributions may be made to North Life Baptist Church Mission Fund, 2437 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, OH 44691 or to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
