William J. Schmucker, 67, of 7956 E. Moreland Rd., Fredericksburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 2, 2020 at Wooster Community Hospital after a short illness.
He was born Jan. 11, 1953 in Chardon, OH to Joseph and Agnes (Bender) Schmucker and married Elizabeth Nisley on May 3, 1973. He had worked at Curry Lumber and Hillside Hardware and was a member of the Old Order Amish.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth; children, Susie (Andy) Shetler of Fredericksburg, Joe (Elsie) Schmucker of the home, Aden (Martha) Schmucker of Fredericksburg and Katie (David) Swartzentruber of Millersburg; 13 grandchildren and 6 brothers and 3 sisters, Ruth (Elmer) Yoder, Susan (Albert) Miller, Sara Miller, Allen Schmucker, Noah (Katie Ann) Schmucker, Lester (Ruth) Schmucker, Joe (Jemima) Schmucker, Simon (Mary Ann) Schmucker and Jonas (Barbara) Schmucker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Daniel and David Schmucker and his in-laws, Mose and Susie Nisley.
Services will be Thursday, Nov. 5th at 9:00 a.m. at the residence with Bishop Eli Y. Hostetler officiating. Burial will be in Troyer Cemetery, Salt Creek Township, Wayne County. Friends may call anytime at the residence. Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg is handling arrangements.
