William R. "Bill" Mast

William R. “Bill” Mast, 92, of Wooster, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Wooster Community Hospital.

Bill was born on Aug. 10, 1929 in Smithville to the late William F. and Viola (Newill) Mast and was a 1948 graduate of Smithville High School.  On Aug. 11, 1951 he married Glenna C. McClintock and she preceded him in death Aug. 1, 2021.  Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953 and had worked for Gilbert Lumber Co. in Smithville for 50 years.  He was a member of the Smithville Brethren Church and the Creston American Legion Post 497.  Bill enjoyed going on country drives, watching Westerns and his Boston Terriers that he had over the years.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Tom Ringler of Wooster, son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Annette Mast of Wooster; daughter-in-law, Kim Mast of Smithville; son-in-law, Steve Stoffer of Apple Creek; grandchildren, Tonja, Tracy, Jennifer, Brian, Olivia, Brett, Billy and Joey and  7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna, son, Richard “Rick” Mast in 2018, a daughter, Sharon Stoffer in 2020 and a sister, Helen Hershberger.

Services will be Wednesday, June 8th at 12:00 noon at Murray Funeral Home in Creston.  Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com  The family extends a special thanks to the staff at Westview Healthy Living in Wooster for the wonderful care given to Bill.  Your kindness and care will always be remembered.
