William James Obituary

 

William Forrest James, 89, of Wooster, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020 after a brief illness.

Forrest was born July 4, 1930 in Wooster to the late Virgil and Jessie (Shelly) James and was a 1949 graduate of Wooster High School.  He served in the in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951 – 1953 and on June 29, 1957 married the former Evelyn M. Kane.  Evelyn preceded him in death on Feb. 4, 2018.  He had worked at Ingersoll Rand in Orrville and later retired from the Wooster Brush.  For 20 years he operated James Photography.   Forrest was a faithful member of Church of the Cross United Methodist Church and enjoyed flying, woodworking, photography and military history.

Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Bonnie James of Wooster, Ronald and Stephanie James of New Philadelphia and Owen and Christy James of Wooster; grandchildren, Katheryn (Trey) Blanco, Marjorie (John) Scott, William (Shaylyn) James, Bryan James, Adam James and Steven James and great-granddaughters, Justice James and Carmella Scott; brothers and sisters, Francis James of Randallstown, MD, Robert (Jean) James of Fredericksburg, Richard (Barb) James of Wooster, Theola “Dolly” Mann of Wooster and Evelyn Musselman of Apple Creek.  He was preceded in death by his wife and a sister, Virginia McCarrick.

Memorial services will be Sunday, Feb. 9th at 3:00 p.m. at Church of the Cross United Methodist Church, 5100 Cleveland Rd., Wooster, with Pastor Kristen Patt officiating.  Friends will be received one hour prior to services.  Burial will be held at Moreland Cemetery at a late date.  Murray Funeral Home is handling arrangement and tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com  Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
