V. Kathleen Sohar, 80, of Creston, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2020 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster after a brief illness.
She was born June 30, 1939 in Braxton County, WV and given the name Venia Kathleen. She retired from the Truck Stops of America in Seville and then worked at Pike Station Inn in Creston until she was nearly 80 years old. She was a member of Rittman Moose Lodge and the Wadsworth Eagles and had been on a woman’s bowling league at Creston. Kathleen enjoyed cooking and camping at Berlin Lakes.
Surviving are her husband, Richard Sohar; her children, Brenda (Willie) Watts of Rittman, Steven Richard Metheney, Sarah Reber and John Metheney all of Creston; 5 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and brothers and sisters, Rev. Carl Marks, Lester Marks, Ray Marks, Virginia Brady, Wandalea McCumbers and Vickie Chastain.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Darrell, Delmer, Basil and Ronzel and a sister, Rosalea.
Private family services will be Saturday at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. Friends are welcome to stop at the funeral home on Friday between 2-6 p.m. to pay their respects and sign the register.
