Tyler Edward “Dewey” Robinson, 31, of Burbank, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022.
Tyler was born on May 30, 1990, in Wooster and was the son of Brian and Susan (White) Robinson. He graduated from Norwayne High School in 2009, where he accomplished so much and excelled at sports. In 8th grade, he placed in state for wrestling and helped the Norwayne Bobcats win their first county win in over 30 years during his senior year of football. He still holds the home run record for Norwayne baseball, using his cleats that were held together with tape instead of buying new ones because he believed they brought him good luck, and they did.
He went on to play baseball at Westminster College, where he started all four years of baseball and graduated in 2013. After graduation, he assisted as an umpire for minor league baseball while working at CSX Railroad as a signalman. He was the local treasurer for Local 94 for the past six years. Tyler enjoyed grilling and cooking for family and friends and loved setting off fireworks for the Fourth of July. He loved his grandma’s soup beans and his grandpa’s jokes.
Tyler will be greatly missed by his parents, Brian and Sue of Creston; his sisters and brother, Anna Roller of Columbus, Jennifer (Brian) Robinson-Mocko of Grove City, and Joseph Robinson, who is stationed at Lakenheath Air Force Base in England; nieces, Iris and Sloane Mocko; grandparents, Roy and Evelyn Robinson of Creston and aunts, uncles and cousins as well as many friends. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Eileen and Robert White.
Tyler was a wonderful son, brother, and friend that anyone would be proud to have. His infectious laugh, sense of humor, and kind heart will forever be missed. Our hearts are broken with the loss of this beautiful soul.
Services will be Wednesday, April 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston.. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In place of flowers, donations may be made to Norwayne High Baseball Program, 350 S. Main St., Creston, OH 44217.
