Suzanne (Verna) Meager

On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, Suzanne Meager (nee Verna) passed peacefully surrounded by family following her battle with cancer. Born in Pennsylvania, Suzanne moved to Seville in 1995 where she resided ever since – a proud Sevillian. Among Suzanne's greatest joys included attending the annual yard sale; the event of the season, she would say. Suzanne was looking forward to seeing neighbors, friends and family, and feeding them as she so often did.

Suzanne delighted in food and sharing the dinner table with others. You never left her house hungry, even if you didn't plan on eating when you stopped by. Suzanne always put others first, and her work at Portage Path Behavioral Health in Barberton touched countless lives. She was lucky to have made great and many friends throughout her years at The Path. She was a world-class storyteller and did not hesitate to re-enact the crucial details. She taught us to enjoy the small moments and simple things in life. We will miss her food made with love, her thoughtfulness, and her laughter most of all.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Gary Meager, daughters Melissa and Amanda, stepdaughter Julie Gurnsey and stepson Dean Meager, grandsons Lee and Max, as well as countless extended family members and friends.

We will be celebrating the life of Suzanne and the joy she brought to each of our lives this Sunday, May 7th, from 2-6pm at the Galaxy in Wadsworth. Please stop by and share your memories with us.
