Sunny Charles Kurjian, 75, of Brunswick, passed peacefully at home on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020 after a brief illness.
Sunny was born Dec. 28, 1944 in Mobile, AL to the late Wilfred G. Sr. and Martha P. (Moore) Kurjian and served in the U.S. Army from 1962 – 1965. He received an Associate’s Degree from Wooster College retired after 43 years from Park Ohio industries. A resident of Brunswick since 1983, he had previously resided in Chippewa Lake. Sunny was raised in the Catholic Church was a member of Lodi United Methodist Church and the Eagles. He enjoyed fishing, singing and dancing and setting up at flea markets. He is remembered for helping others and for caring for older friends and neighbors.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley (Hine) Kurjian who he married on July 23, 1966; his son, Sunny Jr. and his grandson, Christian of Brunswick; sister, Florence Burke of Seville; brothers, Jerry L. Kurjian of Seville and Danny D. (Sandra) Kurjian of Florida; nieces and nephews and his little dog, Baby.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wilfred Jr.
Services and military honors will be Tuesday, Sept. 29th at 1:00 p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery where masks are required. Friends are welcome to gather from 12 – 12:30 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home, 173 S. Main St., Creston, OH prior to processing to the cemetery.
