Simon L. Swartzentruber, 68, of 9124 County Road 245, Holmesville, died Friday, April 8, 2022 at Sycamore Run Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Dover, DE on May 12, 1953 to Lewis and Anna (Swartzentruber) Swartzentruber. He married Laura Mae Kauffman on Oct. 30, 1980 and she survives. He had made his home in Canada having moved to Holmesville six years ago and was a member of the Amish Church.
Surviving are his wife, Laura; children, Samuel (Mary Edna) Swartzentruber of Worthington, IN, Naomi Swartzentruber of the home, Eli Swartzentruber of Worthington, IN, Alvin (Naomi) Swartzentruber of Lafayette, TN, Joseph Swartzentruber of the home and David Swartzentruber of Lafayette, TN; 4 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, David (Eunice) Swartzentruber, Reuben (Ellen) Swartzentruber, Esther Swartzentruber, Sarah Swartzentruber, Martha Swartzentruber, Mary (Lewis) Mast and Miriam (Amos) Wagler all of Aylmer, Canada and Dora Yoder of Bloomfield, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, Edwin Yoder, a niece and a nephew.
Services will be Monday, April 11th at 9:00 a.m. at the Roman Miller Residence, 9081 County Road 245, Holmesville with Bishop Alvin Hilty officiating. Burial will be in the Yoder Cemetery, Prairie Township. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and on Sunday at the Miller residence. Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg is handling arrangements.
