Obituary

Shirley Ann Webb Lewis Davis, 82, of Creston, passed away on Friday, Dec. 24, 2021 at Wooster Community Hospital after a brief illness.

Shirley was born on Nov. 28, 1939 in Edwight, WV to the late James Gifford and Megnolia (Enola) Myrl (Dickens) Webb. Shirley graduated at the top of her class in 1958 from Marsh Fork High School in Montcoal, WV and received a scholarship at graduation, which was quite an honor for her. Shirley was voted "Best Dressed," which would come to no surprise to anyone who knew her! As a child, Shirley took tap and ballet classes and she continued to enjoy dancing her whole life. Shirley also loved to roller skate and spent much time at the rink, these traditions are passed on through generations to this day. On Dec. 20, 1958 she married William P. Lewis who preceded her in death on May 17, 1989.  On April 3, 1991 she married Arthur Davis who survives her.  Shirley enjoyed a number of employment positions over the years including Mary Kay Cosmetics, Dunlap (Aultman) Hospital, Ramada Inn, Creston Moose Lodge, Wayne County Administration Office and Allstate.  In Creston, she made a home for herself and the many whom she loved. She was also a member of Creston Moose Lodge and enjoyed many years spent there with friends. Shirley loved attending Sunday services at Crossroads Church in Creston and she knew she was going to heaven.

Shirley was very passionate about her family. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren which was apparent through the countless stories she shared about them. She was always there with a gift, a smile and an infectious laugh. Shirley was an animal lover and a ‘fierce’ Bingo player; luck was Always on her side.  She was a cancer survivor, in remission 4 years after a hard battle fought with advanced Lymphoma. She will be so greatly missed by her loving family and life-long friends.

Surviving is her husband, Art; her children and their spouses, Robin and Curt Valentine of Rittman, Jeffrey and Janice Lewis of Creston and Stephanie and Ryan David of Massillon; her 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Mike and Ashley Valentine, Steve and Brittany Valentine, Devin Dunstone, Paul Lewis, Paige and Harley Edmond; 5 great-grandchildren (Sadie, Dawson, Sawyer, Madison, Addison and ‘one on the way’); brother, James Webb Jr. of Beckley, WV and her beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband William Paul Lewis l; son, William Paul Lewis ll, and a brother, Elden Dale Webb.
