Shirley Linda Gammell

Shirley L. Gammell, 82, of Creston, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at Barberton Summa Hospital after a period of declining health.

Shirley was born Aug. 6, 1938 in Beallsville to the late Samuel and Ada (Reed) Pittman and married Harold E. Gammell on Nov. 9, 1958. Harold preceded her in death on April 9, 2011. Shirley was a wonderful mother and grandmother and she dearly loved her family. She will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her children, Kathy Jung of Doylestown, Steve (Robin) Gammell of Spencer, Kimberly Barton of Creston, Tina (Chris) Bacius of South Lake, Texas, and Tammy (Duane) Gammell of Creston; grandchildren, Heather (Jason) Hohn, Jamie (Vince) Morber, Megan (Bob) Shilling, Ashley (Drew) Dunn, Stacy Gammell, Michael (Chelsea) Manchak, Kelli (Jeremy) Steiner and Will Bacius; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Freda Ferguson of Wooster, a brother, Larry (Sue) Pittman of Portage Lakes and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a sons-in-law, Michael Jung and Brian Barton, brothers, Harley, Vernon, Glen, Olen and Paul Pittman and sisters, Dessie Henthorn, Nelda Murphy, Doris Maynard, Erma Johnson, Beulah Ferguson and Norma Pope.

Services will be Friday, April 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston where friends will be received from 12:00 noon until time of services.  Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.  Tributes may be shared at www.Muray-Funeral-Home.com
