Sherry Jenettie (Pomeroy) Griffith

Sherry Jenettie Griffith, 59, of Rittman, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April  21, 2023 after a lengthy illness.

Sherry was born in Orrville on April 13, 1964 to Glenn and Janice (Johnson) Pomeroy and attended Rittman High School. On Aug. 28, 1982 she married Glenn Griffith and they celebrated over 40 wonderful years together.  Sherry had worked at Sparky’s Pizza in Rittman,  Ramada Inn in Wadsworth and Buckeye Graphics in Rittman as well as always caring for her family.  She was a member of Rittman Community Freewill Baptist Church and loved listening to Gospel Music.  Her children and grandchildren were her life and Sherry loved being surrounded by her large, wonderful family whenever possible. 

She will be greatly missed by her husband, Glenn; her children and their spouses, Jan and Mat Bing of Rittman and Justin and Amanda Griffith of Seville; her seven grandchildren, Carson, Noah, Rilynn, Sofia, Nyah , Kenna and Zaley; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Rhonda Pomeroy of Rittman, Nathan and Joyce Pomeroy of Medina and Debbie Pomeroy of Rittman; her father-in-law, Ralph Griffith and family and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Eddie Pomeroy and her mother-in-law, Louise Griffith.

Services will be Tuesday, April 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Rittman Community Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Cecil Farmer and Rev. John Castle officiating.  Burial will be in Rittman Cemetery.  Friends may call Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the Church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd, Wooster, OH 44691 who cared for Sherry at home.  Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements.
