Sara J. Bise

Sara J. Bise, 85, of Rittman, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021 at Burbank Parke Care Center after a period of declining health.

Sara was born April 2, 1935 in Calhoun County, WV to the late Friend M. and Mary F. (Jarvis) Metheney and was a graduate of Coolville High School.  On July 11, 1953 she married George Preston Bise and they shared 67 years together until his death on Sept. 29, 2020.  She had worked for many years as a cook at Cloverleaf High School and had done several other jobs in the area. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seville and the Cambridge Grange.  She had made her home in the Seville, Senecaville, Cambridge and Rittman area.  Sara enjoyed cooking, knitting, reading and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her children; Donna Green of Fresno, CA, Pam Bise of Rittman and Rodney (Lilly Ann) Bise of Drake, CO; daughter-in-law, Glynis; 5 grandchildren, Joshua and Scott Green, Chad (Kelly), Jeremy (Maria) Bise and Justin (Chrissy) Bise; 4 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Annabelle, Owen and Evelyn Bise and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Roger D. Bise, a son-in-law, Robert Green, her parents, brothers, Lynn, Gordon D., Eugene and Raymond Metheney and sisters, Mary Metheney, Nelle Bailey, Hattie Carpenter, Rada Hopkins, Ida Runnion and Iris Creamer.

Services will be Friday, Jan. 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. Burial will be in Seville Mound Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call Thursday, Jan. 14th from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com  In lieu of flowers,  contributions may be made to Seville-Guilford Fire Dept., 100 W.
