Sandra Kay Stebbins

Sandra Kay Stebbins, 73, of Wooster passed away on Monday, Sept. 27, 2021 at Wooster Community Hospital after a brief illness.

Sandy was born on Sept. 16, 1948 in Jackson, Ohio and graduated from Fairborn High School.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bethel College in Mishawaka, IN and later received her Master’s Degree from Akron University.  Over her career as a teacher, she taught at Bethel-New Carlisle Schools, Shawnee Local Schools in Lima, Wooster City and retired from the Wayne County Schools Career Center.  Sandy was a woman of faith that taught Sunday School and was active in Bible Study in the churches she attended and was currently attending Parkview Church of Christ.  She had made her home in Creston, prior to moving to Wooster where she had worked for the Village of Creston, had served on the Norwayne Local Board of Education and was honored as a Citizen of the Year in 1991.  Sandy was an avid reader who loved gardening and her cats, but she devoted her life to being a mother and teacher. 

Surviving is her husband, James Stebbins; children and their spouses, Mark and Ashley Stebbins of Stoutsville, OH, Micah and Brandy Stebbins of Wooster and Rebekah and Arie Andersen of Mechanicsville, MD; sisters, Marsha Blair of Fairborn and Pam and her husband Curtiss Phillips of Lancaster and a brother, David and his wife Norma Blair of Fairborn.

She was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Stebbins; her mother, Marilyn Blair and a brother, Richard Blair.
