Sandra Ann Bowman, 76, of Creston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020 at Aultman Hospital in Canton after a brief illness.
Sandy was born Feb. 7, 1944 in Wooster to the late Emil and Ella (Tobias) Croft and was a 1962 graduate of Norwayne High School. On Oct. 13, 1963 she married Richard “Dick” Bowman and they spent the past 57 years together on their farm south of Creston. Sandy worked for 21 years for Bank One and had been the bookkeeper for the family business, Sanmandy, for the past 30 years. She was an active member of the Wayne Presbyterian Church for over 60 years and had organized the food stand for the Buckeye Machine Sale at the Wayne Co. Fairgrounds for 35 years. Sandy enjoyed gardening and canning fruits and vegetables and loved to bake and cook. She was always trying new recipes and has always been a caretaker of others. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and she will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her husband, Richard; her children and their spouses, Michael and Holly Bowman and Monica and Tim Trapp of Creston; her grandchildren, Trevor Bowman and Amyra Bowman; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marcella and Daniel Shew of Delaware, OH and Nancy and Tom Sargeant of Wooster and nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday, Oct. 5th at 2:00 p.m. at Wayne Presbyterian Church in Wooster with Pastor Robert Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Canaan Cemetery.
