Ronnie Cox Obituary

 

Ronnie Franklin Cox, 82, of Wadsworth, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 6, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.

Ronnie was born Jan. 28, 1938 in Yolyn, WV to the late Francis and Laura Ada (Smith) Cox.  He graduated from Sharples High School in Logan Co., WV and retired from General Motors in 1994 after 37 years of service.  Ronnie had also had his own painting business for many years and later worked at Seville Elementary School for 12 years until finally retiring.  A man of faith, he was always active in church and was currently a member of Mt. Zion Church of God in Wooster.  Ronnie loved fishing, traveling and teasing his many grandkids.

Surviving are his wife, Deloris (Burns) Cox who he married on Nov. 19, 1994; children, Marcia (Jeff) Hallman of Orangeburg, SC, Dale (Rhonda) Cox of Parma Heights, Ronnie Gary (Debi) Cox of Cleveland and Greg (Tammy) Cox of Seville; step-children, Cheryl (Harvey) Slussar of Marshallville and Harold Burns of Cuyahoga Falls; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren with a new baby on the way; brothers, Francis David Cox of Columbia Station, Donnie Cox of Merritt Island, FL, Paul Cox of Madison, WV and Roger Cox of Middlesboro, KY and a sister, Vida Ann Tusing of Lakewood.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte (Wheatley) Cox on May 12, 1994; a son, Larry; a grandson, Trevor Cox and sisters, Alma Buchanan and Norma Jean Aleshire.

Services will be Thursday, July 9th at 12:00 noon at Canaan Free Will Baptist Church, 12723 Cleveland Rd., Creston with grandson, Rev. Kyle Slussar and Pastor Tom Geissinger officiating.  Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.  Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston and from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the church.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
