Robert E. Glessner, 87, of Creston, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020 at Akron General Hospital.
Bob was born May 21, 1932 in Sterling to the late Paul “Chuck” and Mabel (Keck) Glessner and attended Sterling High School. On Dec. 7, 1959 he married the former Joanne Weahry who preceded him in death on Oct. 2, 2019. He was a retired truck driver having worked for Roadway Express and had made his home in the Sterling and Creston area most of his life. He was a 50 year member of the Sterling K of P and was a member of the Teamsters Union in Akron. Bob enjoyed golfing, shooting pool, cards and games of chance and watching the horses at the track.
Surviving are his uncle, Don Glessner and his aunt, Janet Anshutz both of Sterling; a sister-in-law, Alyce Yannayon of Creston; a brother-in-law, Rick Wearhy of Burbank and nieces, nephews and many cousins and his beloved Molly.
Memorial services will be held Friday, Jan. 31st at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. Burial will be in the Sterling Crown Hill Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
