Richard R. Wilson, 91, of Wooster, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019 after a brief illness.

He was born March 13, 1928 in Wayne County to the late Ashley and Evelyn (Waters) Wilson and was a 1946 graduate of Smithville High School.  On Aug. 31, 1949 he married the former Norma Cusack and together they celebrated 70 years of marriage.  He had been a farmer most of his life and retired from the Wayne County Highway Dept. in 1988 after 17 years of services.  He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and over the years Dick enjoyed fishing and together with Norma enjoyed traveling and spending the winter months in Florida.

Surviving are his wife Norma, sons, Patrick and Portia Wilson of Wooster, Michael and Connie Wilson of Wooster and Jeffrie and Kathy Wilson of Holmesville;  4 grandchildren, Stacy and Steve Legg, Christa and Scott Haven, Tammi and Brooks Curtis and Brian and Amber Wilson; 9 great-grandchildren and a brother, James Wilson of Wooster.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a infant sister.

A service of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Jan. 20th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Wooster.  Burial will be at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
