Ralph L. Cochrell, 90, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at West View Healthy Living after a period of declining health.
He was born November 10, 1931 to Milo and Marie (Lance) Cochrell. He married Virginia Kline on February 28, 1953 at West Salem EUB Church. Ralph was raised on the family farm near Burbank and took over the farm operation when his father passed in 1952. In 1960, they sold the farm and moved to Creston and made that their home for 57 years. In 2017, they moved to Wooster. He and Virginia had many happy years camping with friends and family. He retired from Columbia Gas Co. in 1987 after 28 years of service. Ralph was active in the Creston community, serving on the fire department, council, and voting poll worker for several years. He attended the chapel services at West View.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Virginia, are a son, Steve (Kay) Cochrell of Mansfield; daughter, Sandy(Richard) Steward of Wooster. He has two grandchildren: Matt (Catherine) Cochrell of Columbus and Rachel Steward of Wooster.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Neal, and infant brother.
Services will be held at West View Healthy Living Chapel, 1715 Mechanicsburg Road, Wooster, on Tuesday, Nov. 15th at 2:00 p.m. with an hour of visitation preceding the service. There will be a private graveside service for the immediate family following the memorial service. Pastor Kirk Fairhurst and Pastor Bud Olszewski will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Life Care Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691 or West View Healthy Living Chaplain Fund. Murray Funeral Home i Creston is handling arrangements.
