Patsy Ann (George) Simms

Patsy Ann Simms, 75 of Creston passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021 surrounded by her family after a short battle with lung cancer.

Patsy was born in Lewistown, Montana on Sept. 2, 1946 to the late Dow and Lena Marie (Crosier) George and grew up in West Virginia.  On Nov. 13, 1962 she married Ralph Simms and they had made their home in Creston for the past 55 years.  She had worked in the housekeeping departments at Evergreen and Meadowview Care Centers and over the years she loved going camping.  Patsy was the glue that held her large and extended family together including her children, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews but her grandkids brought her the greatest joy and she will be forever missed.

  Surviving is her husband Ralph of 59 years, daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Lowell Stamper of Creston and Melissa and Rob O’Connor of Mason, OH; daughter-in-law, Nancy Simms of Wesley Chapel, FL; her grandchildren, Jeremy Simms, Joshua Stamper, Tricia Simms Jones, Michael Simms, Abby O’Connor, Lydia Simms and Aidan O’Connor; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Shirley Morris of Seville, Doris Curtis of Medina, Donnie George of River Styx, Charles (Martha) George of West Salem, Michael (Kim) George of Medina, Pam Rumovitz of Dalton and Carolyn (Mark) Phillips of Mansfield and many nieces and nephews.

Patsy joined in heaven, her son, Rodney Simms; granddaughter, Bethany Stamper, great-grandson, Kaidon; her parents, Dow and Lena, and brothers, Ronnie, Kenneth and Randy.

Services will be Monday, Nov. 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Jerry Hackworth officiating.  Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.  Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.
