Norma Lou Pope, 79, of Creston, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster after a very brief illness.
Norma was born March 17, 1940 in Beallsville to the late Samuel and Ada (Reed) Pittman and married David L. Pope on Jan. 14, 1956. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1982. She retired from General Packaging Products in Medina in 2005 and had made her home in Creston most of her life. Norma enjoyed playing Euchre, a cup of coffee with family members but most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughter, Shelly (Matt) Lawton of West Salem; daughter-in-law, Martha (Dan) Stotts of Creston; grandchildren, Tony (Ashley) Boscia, Adrena Boscia, Tiffany (Preston) Seran and David (Morgan) Pope; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Emmalyn and Conner; sisters, Freda Ferguson and Shirley Gammell both of Creston; brother, Larry (Sue) Pittman of Portage Lakes and many nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, her son, Darrell Pope on Sept. 3, 2002; brothers, Vernon, Harley, Glen, Olen and Paul Pittman and sisters, Dessie Henthorn, Doris Maynard, Nelda Murphy, Erma Johnson and Beulah Ferguson.
Services will be Monday, Feb. 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Paul Bartholomew officiating. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.
