Minnie Lou McVay, 92, of Fresno, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Lafayette Pointe in West Lafayette after a period of declining health.
Minnie was born Dec. 7, 1927 in Glendale, SC to the late John Tilman and Annie Vera (Brewington) Sizemore and married Clarence “Tink” McVay on May 31, 1946. He preceded her in death on July 28, 1994. She had made her home in Fredericksburg prior to moving to Fresno in 1994 and enjoyed playing Bingo and following her nephews and their country band. Minnie also was an Elvis fan and she will be missed but leaves behind many memories and much laughter.
Surviving are her daughters, Gloria “Tootsie” Weller of West Lafayette, Linda Spitler of Fresno and Nancy (Mark Love) Shifflett of Fresno; 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 43 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Sizemore and a sister, Judy Biggerstaff both of Cowpens, SC and many nieces and nephews.
Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, daughters, Vivian “Lannie” Degler and Vera McVay, a granddaughter, brothers, Roy, Fletcher “Sonny” and David and sisters, Catherine, Edna Mae, Gladys and Doris.
Services will be Wednesday, March 4th at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Pastor Bill Jones officiating. Burial will be in Fredericksburg East Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 12:00 noon until time of services. Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
