Obituary

 

Mildred A. Anshutz, 98, of Creston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Burbank Parke Care Center after a period of declining health.

Mildred was born in Hermanville on March 8, 1925 to the late Gilbert F. and Ethel M. (Anderson) Tuttle and was a 1944 graduate of Seville High School.  On Feb. 16, 1947 she married Edward R. Anshutz and he preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 1986.  Mildred had worked at the Ohio Box Board and for Doctor Foster and for Dr. Gordon in Creston.  She had made her home in Creston since 1950 and was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution.  Mildred loved history and genealogy and was a member of the Seville Historical Society, the Wayne County Historical Society, the Holmes County and Wayne County Genealogical Societies as well as the Ohio State Genealogical Society. 

Surviving is her son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Shirley Anshutz of Creston; daughter, Christine McLester of Jacksonville, FL and her four grandchildren, Kurt (Jessica)  Anshutz, Dean (Chrissy) Anshutz, Abby (Cody) Hawk and Mindy McLester.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; her parents; a brother, Robert Tuttle and sister, Evelyn Jennings.

Services will be Thursday, May 11th at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston where friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until time of services.  Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice,  3743 Boettler Oaks Dr., Suite E., Uniontown, OH 44685.
