Merle William Romick went home to be with his Lord on March 13, 2021, at LifeCare Hospice.
Born at home on Water Street in Burbank to Maruce (Morris) and Cora Romick on September 6, 1938, he attended Burbank School and graduated from Norwayne High School in 1956.
Merle worked Burbank area farms during school, and his career included International Paper, the Wooster Brush Company and he retired from Rubbermaid in (1999 or 2000?)
He married Edna Ernst in 1958, and made their home in Burbank and Wooster. Merle enjoyed spending time with his beloved family, all outdoor activities, and was a skilled hunter, trapper and fisherman. He served on Burbank’s Volunteer Fire Department and as an EMT, served on Burbank Village Council.
He was preceded in death by his wife Edna, sisters Pearl (Becker), Louise (Gilreath), Garnet (Foltz), Thera (Daly) and his brother Dale. Surviving are son William (Chloa) of Raleigh, North Carolina, daughter Rebecca (Dan) Eberly of Wooster, and grand children Douglas and Kathryn Romick of North Carolina, John (Cynthia), Naomi, Debra and Phillip Eberly of Wooster, and many nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wayne County Fire & Rescue Training Center, First Church of God, Wooster, or LifeCare Hospice.
Murray Funeral Home will be handling arrangements. A family ceremony is planned to lay Merle and Edna to rest in the Burbank Cemetery.
