Mary Watts Obituary

Mary Ellen Watts, 80, of Sterling, passed away at home on Monday, May 9, 2022 after a lengthy period of failing health.

Mary was born in Scioto County, OH on Feb. 12, 1942 to the late Hershel Sr. and Rose Zella (Green) Neff and was a 1960 graduate of Cloverleaf High School.  ON April 6, 1962 she married Billy Watts and they recently celebrated 60 years together.  She had retired from Babcock & Wilcox after 19 years and had made her home in Sterling since 1968.  Mary was a member of South Main St. Church of God.   She loved cooking having collected many cookbooks and recipes and she loved shopping either at a thrift store, yard sale or on the QVC shopping channel.  She truly loved her kids and grandkids and she was loved by all.

Surviving is her husband, Bill; children and their spouses, Robbin and Clarence Arnold of Winchester, VA, Brian and Betty Watts of Wooster and Shelley and Dann Hobson of St. Cloud, FL; daughter-in-law, Barbara Watts of Norton; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren with another on the way; 6 brothers and sisters, Alice and Floyd Dutt of Wadsworth, Clarence and Susan Neff of Winter Haven, FL, Lee and Sandi Neff of Lake Wales, FL, Carol and Allen Swain of Wadsworth, Hershel “Ellzie” and Sandy Neff of Rittman and Donna and Larry Bishop of Rittman; and a sister-in-law, Kathryn Neff of Wadsworth. She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Watts in 2017; a grandchild, her parents and a sister and a brother, Dorothy Metheney and Carl Neff.

Service will be Sunday, May 15th at 4:00 p.m. at South Main St. Church of God with Pastor Jeff Ball officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 pm until time of services on Sunday at the church. Burial will be on Monday at 12:00 noon at Rittman Cemetery.  Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements.
