Mary Lee Munday

Mary Lee Munday, 88, of Wooster, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at the Avenue of Wooster after a period of declining health.

Mary Lee was born on July 18, 1934 in Perry Township, Monroe County to Clyde and Alice (Cline) Burke and was a 1953 graduate of Antioch High School.  On May 15, 1954 she married Walter Russell Munday and he preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 1977.  She worked for several years at Truck Stops of America in Seville and later at Goodwill Industries.  Mary Lee had made her home near Creston prior to moving to Wooster and was a woman of faith. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking.

Surviving are her children, Gary (Louise) Munday of Massillon, William  Munday, Sr. of Wooster,  Brenda Munday of Creston and Rita (Steve) Ridenbaugh of Shreve; 12 grandchildren,  21 great-grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Burke of Massillon; a sister, Janet Swaney of Coshocton and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, children, Larry Munday, Sheryl Munday and Elizabeth “Beth” Munday and brothers and sisters, Vernon Burke, Verle Burke, Dannie Burke, Clara Jones and Kay Pasmore.

Services will be Friday, May 19th at 10:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial following in West Union Cemetery in Monroe County.  Friends may call Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
