Mary Cecelia Fry

Mary Cecelia Fry, 71, of Fredericksburg passed away on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2023 at Wooster Community Hospital after a period of declining health.

Mary was born in Wooster on March 29, 1952 to the late Raymond C. and Margaret J. (Graber) Weckesser and graduated from Waynedale High School in 1970.  She graduated from Kent State School of Nursing and had worked as an Obstetric Nurse at Pomerene Hospital and at Wooster Community Hospital.  After retiring she worked at Majora Lane Nursing Home and Walnut Hills and was a Hospice Volunteer.  On Aug. 12, 1973 she married Arthur Fry and Art preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 2009.  Mary was an active member of the Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church where she had sung in the choir and served as a Deacon.  She enjoyed singing in the Wayne County Choir and exhibiting her artwork, cross stitching and crocheting at the Wayne County Fair. 

Surviving are her children, Allen (Tina Kullman) Fry of Fredericksburg, Bradley (Samantha) Fry of Wooster and Rebecca Fry Curtis of Laramie, WY; 9 grandchildren and a sister, Jean Berkhouse of Apple Creek.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a grandson.

Services will be Monday, Sept. 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church with Pastor Nancy Dumford officiating.  Burial will be in Fredericksburg East Cemetery.  Friends may call Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Church.
