Lucille Gray Obituary

 

Lucille M. Gray, 80, of Wooster and formerly of Burbank, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020 at her home.

Lucy was born July 4, 1940 in Polk, to the late Travis and Grace (Tanner) Martin.  She graduated from Polk High School and later from Ashland College with a degree in education.  On June 24, 1962 she married Robert Gray and he survives.   She retired from Waynedale Truss and Panel and Mold Consultants Assoc. and had previously taught school for several years and had worked at Creston Livestock Sales. Lucy enjoyed her monthly gatherings with high school friends, the Wayne County Fair, working on puzzles, reading, knitting and sewing.  She loved the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Indians and she and Bob enjoyed their many trips to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.  She was a member of Canaan Lutheran Church and had been an election poll worker.

Surviving are her husband, Bob; her 3 daughters, Roberta “Bobbi” and Steve Geiser of Wooster, Karen and Brian Christman of Apple Creek and Susan Cox of Medina; her 8 grandchildren, Jeremy (Lori) Christman, Jessica (Paul) Walton, Stephani Geiser who passed away the same day as Lucy; Breanna Geiser, Jared Geiser, Eric Geiser, Jake Cox and Gigi Cox; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Louise and Perry Tracy of West Salem and Lucretia and Carl Portz of Loudonville; a brother-in-law, John Broome of West Salem and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter Stephani and a sister, Lynette Broome.

Family services will be held at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with her nephew, Rev. Layton Broome officiating.  There will be no calling hours.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
