Loretta Jane (Yoder) Marty

Loretta Jane Marty, 90, of Sterling, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster after a brief illness.

Loretta was born near Creston on Sept. 2, 1935, to Jacob and Hilda (Veney) Yoder and was a 1953 graduate of Creston High School.  On Oct. 9, 1954, she married Robert Leroy Marty and they made their home near Sterling on their family dairy farm that they worked together.  Loretta was a member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Wayne County Farm Bureau, the Wayne County Dairy Promotors and she enjoyed playing Euchre and Dominos with family and friends.

Surviving is her husband of 71 years, Robert; their five children and their spouses, Karen and Stan Carmony, Robin and Duane Eggeman, Duane and Barbara Marty, Scott Marty, and Craig and Katharine Marty; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, a sister, Norma Lance and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, Bobby, a sister, Peggy Kauf and a brother, Gary Yoder.

Services will be Monday, Oct. 27th at 11:00 a.m. at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9282 Acme Rd., Seville, OH with Rev. Karen Liddy officiating.  Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.  Friends may call Sunday, from 2-4 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
