Lois Jean Gasser, 88, of Creston, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020 at Burbank Parke Care Center after a period of declining health.
Lois was born March 13, 1932 in Sullivan to the late Daniel and Rhea (Clark) Gorey and was a 1950 graduate of Lodi High School. On May 13, 1952 she married Marvin E. Gasser in Fort Wayne, IN and Marvin preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 1989. Lois had worked at Coffey Insurance in Creston and retired in 1993 from Burbank Elementary after 25 years to the Norwayne District having been the school secretary and later a cook in the kitchen. She attended Faith United Methodist Church in Burbank and was active in the women’s society having helped with the rummages sales and dinners. She was also active in the Creston Citizens. Lois was a wonderful cook, baker, seamstress and loved to garden and can. She always had a special place in her heart for school kids and enjoyed collecting school supplies and materials. She will be remembered for her dedication to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her children; Kathy and Dan Auxter of Creston, Richard and Connie Gasser of Creston and Sandi Mueller of Dayton; son-in-law, Tom Mueller; her 6 grandchildren and their spouses, Nick and Jill Gasser, Michelle and Jeff Grassbaugh, Abbey Auxter, Emily and Jeff Askew, Trevor and Julie Mueller and Joseph and Dianne Mueller; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Carter Gasser, Justin Grassbaugh, Chase Askew, Ingrid and Everett Mueller and two more on the way; a sister-in-law, Gertie Gorey of Lodi and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin and a brother, George Gorey.
Family services for the immediate family will be held and Lois will be laid to rest with Marvin at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
