Larry A. Rowe, 78, of Holmesville, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Friday, May 28, 2021 after an extended illness.
Larry was born Jan. 19, 1943 in Millersburg to the late George and Loretta (House) Rowe. He graduated from Millersburg High School in 1963 and served in the Ohio National Guard. On Sept. 6, 1969 he married the former Margaret Jean Daugherty and she survives. Larry retired from Holmes County Highway Dept. in 2008 after 30 years of service and was a member of the Holmesville Church of Christ and the Holmes County Classic Cruiser’s Car Club. His family was the center of his life and he loved supporting his grandkids in their school and sporting events. A man that could fix, repair or build anything, he was always willing to help family with any projects they had. If you couldn’t find Larry at home, he could be found “working” on classic cars with his twin brother and best friend, Gary. Larry enjoyed traveling, family vacations, woodworking, bird watching and taking pictures. Christmas with the Lemon family was always a special time and he will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his wife, Jean, his 3 children, Alison Horsley of Millersburg, Krista and her husband, Justin “Scrap” Garver of Millersburg and Michael and his wife, Stacy Rowe of Fredericksburg; his 6 special grandchildren, Megan and her husband Matthew Pintell, Colton Garver, Cambree Garver, Madison Rowe, Audrey Rowe and Paisley Rowe; a sister, Beverly Casey of Millersburg; brothers, Gary and his wife, Gayle Rowe and Robert and his wife, Katie Rowe all of Holmesville; a sister-in-law, Jane Daugherty of Wooster and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Alice.
Services will be Wednesday, June 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Pastor Tim Underwood officiating. Burial will be in Fryburg Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
