Larry Dale Keener, 69, of Rittman, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 3, 2021.
Larry was born Aug. 11, 1951 in Gassaway, WV to the late Sylvan and Melissa (Triplett) Keener and graduated from Braxton County High School in 1969. He later attended West Virginia Tech and Akron Universities where he studied Mechanical Engineering and later Accounting. On Aug. 3, 1974 he married the former Vivian Pearl Griffith and they made their home in Rittman since 1975. He had worked at Midwest Rubber in Barberton and later at Aran Aqua Pollution Systems in Chippewa Lake. Larry was a faithful servant of the Lord and was a member of Canaan Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a Discipleship Pastor. He was a former pastor of Rittman Free Will Baptist Church and member of the Heaven Bound Gospel Group and was also a part of the Representatives at Canaan. Larry loved history, especially Civil War history and he enjoyed playing the guitar and building models.
Surviving are his wife, Vivian; brothers, Carl (Lenora) Keener of Front Royal, VA and Gary Keener of Flatwoods, WV; sisters-in-law, Jackie Keener of Stow and Betty Keener of Strange Creek, WV; Vivian’s brother and sisters who were like his own; Ralph Griffith of Sterling, Ann (Calvin) Reed and Janice (Melvin) Reed both of Quaker City and Sheila (Ed) Pauli of Akron and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dana Keener and Ralph Keener and sister-in-law, Wavolene Keener.
Services will be Monday, June 7th at 1:00 p.m. at Canaan Free Will Baptist Church with Pastors Aaron Justice and his nephew, Glenn Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Rittman Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the Church.
