Larry Robert Bratcher, 72, of Burbank, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023 at Akron City Hospital.
Larry was born in Wooster on April 5, 1951 to William and Lucille (Morris) Bratcher. He retired from CSX Railroad after 36 years of service and had previously worked in the Oil Fields, was a certified truck driver and was a licensed real estate agent. After retiring from the railroad, he was a truck driver for S-H Distributing in Burbank. He was a member of the Farmer’s Sportsmen Club. Larry enjoyed fishing and tinkering on cars and is remembered for his famous chili that he entered in many chili cook-offs.
Surviving is his wife, Yvonne (Wellman) Bratcher who he married on June 12, 1993; children Lori Crabtree of Orrville, Julie McConnell of Wellington, Angela Bratcher of Orrville, Adam (Elena) Bratcher of Litchfield, Amber (Bret) Ross Wiley of Medina and April Ross of Wadsworth; grandchildren, Jac and Ben Crabtree, Cooper and Addison McConnell, Eric and Shelton Smothers, Kayleigh, Elliana and Waylon Bratcher and Elliot and Maeve Wiley; sisters and brother, Sue Siladi of Smithville, Gary (Patty) Bratcher of Loudonville, Sherry (Dan) Younker of Wooster and Missie (Kelli) Bricker-Bratcher; step-father, Reathel Cardwell and step-mother, Justine Bratcher and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Cardwell, his father, William Bratcher and brother-in-law, Ed Siladi.
Services will be Thursday, Nov. 16th at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until time of services on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 2700 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
