Kim Elaine Slutz, 68, of Wooster and formerly of Fredericksburg, passed away from Metastatic Breast Cancer on Friday, Sept. 23, 2022 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster.
Kim was born in Wooster on Sept. 17, 1954 to Arthur J. and Eleanor I.(Leiner) Slutz and grew up in Fredericksburg. She graduated from Waynedale High School in 1973 and had attended Wayne General College and Akron University and had later attended classes at the Wayne County Schools Career Center. Kim had worked at several area Industries, at Apple Creek Developmental Center and Southeast Local Schools. Her greatest joy was being a caregiver to her Mother and best friend, Eleanor, for many years. She had made her home in Fredericksburg most of her life and grew up attending the Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church. Kim enjoyed traveling with her parents, going to thrift stores, and auctions with her Mother as they searched for Fredericksburg Pottery. In recent years, Kim enjoyed going to movies with her sister Deb ( who was her primary caregiver during her illness) and her husband Jon. She always enjoyed family gatherings and recently enjoyed reconnecting with old high school friends.
She will be greatly missed by her sisters, Diane Covert of Wooster, Karen (Larry) Badger of Fredericksburg and Deb (Jon) Thompson of Wooster; nieces and nephews, Brandon Covert, Jud Covert, Melissa (Kevin) Duff, Chad (Judy) Badger, Stacy (Casey) Jones and Seth (Jessica) Thompson; 9 great-nieces and nephews and her special aunt, Florence “Bunny” Leiner of Wooster.
Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Eleanor Slutz.
Private family services will be Friday, Sept. 30th with burial in Fredericksburg East Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
