Kenneth M. Thompson, 73, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Wooster Community Hospital after a brief illness.
Ken was born Aug. 26, 1947 in Wooster to the late Rev. Finley L. and JoAnn (Messer) Thompson and attended Rittman High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1968-1970 and was always proud of his service. On May 26, 1973 he married Peggy Sue Morton and she survives. He retired from Packaging Corp. of America in Rittman and later retired from Westfield Companies. Ken attended Canaan Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed boating, fishing, caring for his home and doing yard work. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his loving wife, Peg; nieces and nephew, Mary Ann (Robert) Harrell, Sheryl Rennecker, Jennifer Rennecker, Vern (Lindsay) Thompson, Crystal (Noel) Peyton, Jeanette (Brad Buckner) Morton and Sonya (Josh) Morton Joyce.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Peggy Lee Rennecker.
Services will be Thursday, March 18th at 1:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. Travis McKenzie officiating. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
