Joseph Scott Decker, 53, of Apple Creek, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster after a brief battle with cancer.
Joe was born on Dec. 6, 1971 in Barberton to Larry and Dianna (Ferguson) Decker and was a 1991 graduate of Triway High School and the Wayne County Schools Career Center. Joe married Amy E. Shaw on March 18, 1999 and worked at Wausau Equipment formerly, Rayco Manufacturing in Wooster for the past 16 years. Joe played the base guitar in several bands that included Blackened and Shyster and he enjoyed doing woodworking and playing video games with his son.
Surviving is his wife, Amy; his son, Scott Decker; step-daughter, Vada Watson; his mother, Dianna Decker; brother and sister-in-law, Jamie and Lisa Decker and their son, Jalen; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mark and Janet Shaw; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Angy Shaw-Shenberger and Dan Shenberger and their daughter, Vivian, and Lori and Brian Barbour and their sons, William and Montgomery and many friends and family members.
Friends may call Friday, April 18th from 6-8 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. In lieu of flowers, please send a plant in Joe’s memory or a donation in care of the funeral home for the family.
