Johnny Booher, 87, of Rittman, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023 at Embassy Autumnwood Nursing Home in Rittman after a period of declining health.
Johnny was born in Orma, WV on july 17, 1936 to ollie and Nora (Truman) Booher and had made his home in Rittman for over 45 years. He had worked at Babcock& Wilcox, at McIntire Basket Factory in Creston and for the City of Rittman. He was a mechanic that loved working on cars as well as having enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.
Surviving is his children, John Hicks, of Rittman, Betty Hicks of Creston, Sandra Yursa of Medina, Tammie (Mike) Townsend of Wooster, Larry (Christine) Hicks of Polk and Terry Lepley of Rittman; son-in-law, Larry Lepley of Rittman; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren including his great-granddaughter, Nora who shared his mother’s name; special friend, Roy Cooper and his caregiver and friend, Lorna Metsker.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Oma Jean (McCune) Booher on Sept. 13, 2013 and ten brothers and sisters.
Services will be Monday, Nov. 13th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial following in Rittman Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m.
