JoAnne E. Baldwin, 88, of Creston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the Apostolic Christian Home after a brief illness.
JoAnne was born Sept. 25, 1932 in Wadsworth to the late Earle T. and Virginia (Sellers) Long and was a 1950 graduate of Creston High School. She attended Otterbein College and Baldwin-Wallace College and graduated of St. Luke School of Nursing. On July 1, 1956 she married Daniel W. Baldwin and Dan preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 2009. JoAnne worked at Apple Creek Developmental Center, Visiting Nurses of Cleveland and the Society for Handicapped Citizens where she retired from in 2002. She was an active member of Creston-Canaan United Methodist Church and had served as the organist at Creston Presbyterian Church for several years. She was a member of Creston Friends of the Library, had been a former Cub Scout Leader, established the Foster Grandparent Program at Apple Creek Developmental Center and had organized the Creston Alumni Reunion. JoAnne was always supportive of the Creston Community and Norwayne Schools and she will be truly missed.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Beth Ann and Michael Kutyba of Eagle River, Alaska; daughter -in-law, Rebecca Baldwin of Creston; grandchildren, Justin Baldwin and his wife, Brandy and Makenzie Kutyba; grandchildren, Cian, Carlin and Cash Baldwin; her sister, Barbara Moore of Creston and nephews and niece, Tom Moore, Michelle Foltz and Brian Moore and their families.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and son, Douglas Baldwin in 2017.
Services will be Wednesday, April 21st at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Lori Burdette-Steele officiating. Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery.
