Jessica Ann Higgins

Jessica Ann Higgins, 40, of Rittman, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Summa Barberton Hospital after a brief illness that led to organ failure.

Jess was born on Jan. 6, 1982 in Wooster to Gerald “Jerry” and Debra (Heater) Higgins and was a 2000 graduate of Rittman High School.  She studied at Rasmussen College and Akron University and since 2013 worked at Signet Jewelers where she was a Technical Release Manager. Jess enjoyed gardening, fishing, going to concerts, watching baseball, Ohio State and the Browns who she had a love/hate relationship with.  She loved her job, her animals, Kevin the dog and Sis the cat and being with family, especially at summer pool days at her Moms.

Surviving is her fiancé, Josh Miller of Rittman; her mother, Debbie (Glenn Drake) Higgins of Rittman; her sister, Michele (John Rodhe) Higgins of Creston; her much loved niece, Maddie Winkler; her grandmother, Bonnie Britton of Rittman; special family friend, Gerri Williams of Creston and many aunts, uncles and cousins including Aunt Cheryl Heater who helped care for Jessica and the family the last days of Jess’s life.

She was met in heaven by her dad, Jerry Higgins and her infant baby who she got to meet and to hold.
