Jerry M. Schaad

Jerry M. Schaad, 87, of Burbank, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020 with family at his side at Regency Hospital in Middleburg Heights after a two month illness.

Jerry was born Feb. 3, 1933 in Creston to the late Paul and Jennie (Ginther) Schaad and married Deloras Reed on Nov. 10, 1951.  Deloras preceded him in death on April 2, 2012.  Jerry was a lifetime worker having worked and retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad after 43 years, later retired from Westfield County Club after 5 years and finally after 10 years of service retired from the Deli Dept. at Walmart after 10 years.  He had made his home in Creston and Wooster having resided with his grandsons, Charles Shanley and Mike Bomboris in Burbank for the last several years.  Jerry enjoyed listening to Country Music, watching NASCAR, football and baseball on the TV, going to the Eagles on Sundays to watch sports with friends and this annual Christmas Eve family gathering.  He was a lifetime member of the Creston Moose Lodge 1224 and was a golden ager at the Wadsworth Eagles 2117.

Surviving are his daughter, Bobbie and Butch Stefanko of Creston; his son, Jerry Jr. and Janice Schaad of Shreve; daughter-in-law, Carol Schaad of Wooster; grandchildren, Shelly Shane, Christy Schaad, Missy Repp, Gene Schaad, John Schaad, Jeremy Schaad, Charles Shanley, George Shanley, and Tiffany Shanley; great-grandchildren, Evan Shane, Emily Repp, Sierra, Savanna, Gage, Titan and Victoria Schaad and Chloe, Gavin and Rennley Shanley; sisters, Helen Dunlap and Patricia Sherwin both of Creston and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Deloras, a son, Albert Paul Schaad, a daughter, Carlotta Shanley and a brother, Eugene Schaad.

Services will be Saturday, Feb. 15th at 4:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston where friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until time of services at 4:00 p.m.  Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery at a later date.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com  Memorial contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
