Jane E. Perry

Jane E. Perry, 99, of Westfield Township, passed away peacefully at Summa Hospice Barberton Hospital on December 22, 2020.

She was born September 8, 1921 at Lodi Hospital.  Preceding her in death was her loving husband, Herman on November 14, 2001, her loving parents, William and Zena Devies, sister, Marjorie Hetzel and nephew, Pete S. Hetzel.  Jan is survived by her son, Rick Perry of Seville.

Jane graduate from Westfield High School in 1939 and from the Wilcox College of Commerce in Cleveland, Ohio.  She was employed by the Government after College.  Jane served her Country as a WACS during WW II, obtaining the rank of Corporal and was stationed in Reno, Nevada.  After being discharged, Jane was employed by Ohio Farmers Insurance Co. (Westfield Insurance), The Northern Ohio Telephone Company and Seville Elevator Company where she retired in 1983.

After retirement, Jane and Herman spent 31 wonderful winters at their condo in St. Petersburg, Florida.  Jane, being interest in drama, organized The Winston Park Players, producing 8 great plays, writing, directing and often taking a part.  She also organized the Red Hat Society at their Florida condo.

A lifelong member of Seville Presbyterian Church, Jane served as Sunday School Superintendent, organized the Morning Angels, a group of ladies in the Church.  She also was a member of the Electra Butler Guild and TNT’S (Twenties & Thirties) and had served 18 years as a volunteer at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital.

Private family services will be held at Seville Presbyterian Church on Saturday, Jan. 2nd.  The service will be live streamed beginning at 2:00 p.m. through the Seville Presbyterian Church Facebook Page.  There will be no calling hours and Jane will be laid to rest on Monday, Jan. 4th at 10:30 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seville Presbyterian Church, 101 Center St., Seville, OH 44273.
