James McComas Obituary

 

James D. McComas, 78, of Creston, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 15, 2021 at the Ames Family Hospice Center in Westlake after a brief illness.

Jim was born on March 1, 1943 in Wayne County, WV to the late Clyde and Eunice (Webb) McComas and was a 1961 graduate of Fort Gay High School.  He had worked at Superior Meats and later retired from St. Francis Catholic Church and School in Medina.  In retirement, he delivered the Plain Dealer Newspaper for several years.  Jim was a quiet man who loved his grandchildren and he enjoyed Gospel and Blue Grass Music.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Lorie and Donald Arnold of Chesterton, IN; son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Jim and Beth McComas of Johnson City, TN; grandchildren, Evie Tsarnas, Katie Tsarnas and Aaron McComas; brothers, Rev. Kenny McComas and Frank “Sam” McComas both of Rittman and Lowell “Buck” (Eileen) McComas and Vernon McComas both of Pritchard, WV; a sister, Naomi (George) Adkins of Pritchard, WV and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew McComas; brothers, John, Clyde, Claude, Ronald and Garland and sisters, Clara, Laura and Doris.

Friends may call Thursday, Aug. 19th from 5-7 p.m. at Canaan Free Will Baptist Church in Creston where his son, Rev.
