James Edward “Ed” Brumfield, 77, of Creston, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family after an eighteen month battle with failing health.
Ed was born March 31, 1943 in Crown City, OH to the late James Emmett and Beulah (Wallace) Brumfield and married the former Wanda Simpson on April 25, 1964. He retired from Morton Salt where he was the Power and Production Supervisor and had made his home in Creston since 1975. Ed was a member of Crossroads Assembly of God in Creston and was a chaplain for Transport of Christ Ministries. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and baseball having been a part of his grandson Corey’s travel ball experience. Ed will be remembered for being a friend to everybody and he will be missed.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda of 56 years; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Cathy Brumfield of Homerville and Michael and Jennifer Brumfield of Creston; grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Elizabeth, Cera, Courtney, Corey, Chelise, Cassie, C.J. and Carston; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Betty Brumfield of Creston and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Norman and Myron and a grandson, Clayton Brumfield.
Services will be Saturday, May 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at Crossroads Assembly of God with Pastor Mike Boggs officiating. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.
