Howard R. Masters, Jr., 83, of Sterling, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021 at LifeCare Hospital in Wooster after a brief illness.
Howard was born on Oct. 9, 1937 in Barberton to the late Howard R. Sr. and Marion E. (Davison) Masters and was a 1955 graduate of Killbuck High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 – 1959 and on April 18, 1959 he married the former Glenda Kay Hodgen. Kay preceded him in death on Jan. 11, 2020. He worked for over 40 years under International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 306 and had made his home near Sterling since 1962. Howard lived his faith and he loved telling others about the Lord. He attended Liberty Free Will Baptist Church in Norton.
Surviving are his children and their spouses, John and Kimberly Masters of North Lawrence, Bill and Tammy Masters of Akron, Cindy and Tracy Moore of Swanton and Jim Masters of Smithville. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, a sister Martha and brothers, Robert and Jack.
