Hildegard Myers

Hildegard Myers, 94, of Sharon Center, on Wednesday afternoon February 24, 2021 joined our Savior and is reunited with daughter Ingrid and her loving husband Bob. Hilde was born April 4, 1926 in Erlangen, Germany the daughter of Elisabetha and George Thaufelder. 

Hilde came to the United States in 1952 and traveled around the country prior to her husband’s discharge from the US Army in January 1968. On February 3, 1956 Hilde proudly became a United States citizen. 

Hilda will fondly be remembered for her love of knitting. There are many kitchens across the country that use her knitted potholders and dishcloths. If you were very lucky you also had one of her beautiful crocheted afghans. Hilde also loved embroidery and cross stitching.  

Hilde leaves behind her granddaughter Tammi Lee Herrington, three great grandchildren Ashley, Devon and Christian and one great great grandson Hunter. 

Hilde was preceded in death by her parents, Elisabetha and George Thaufelder , her brothers George and Hans and her sisters Dora and Sonja, her daughter Ingrid Farnsworth  and her husband of 60 years Robert W Myers .

Linda & Warren, Hilde’s guardians would like to thank the staff of Regency Care of Copley for the care and support of Hilde over the years.

Services  will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on April 2nd at 2:15 pm, where she will be interred along with her husband Robert W. Myers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
