Harold Haas, 87, of Burbank, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family after a period of declining health.
Herman Harold Haas was born June 18, 1933 in Creston to the late Carl and Mabel (Walters) Haas and was a 1953 graduate of Burbank High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 – 1958 and had made his home in Burbank all of his life. Harold retired from the U.S. Postal Services after 37 years as a rural mail carrier and had been a bus driver for Norwayne Local Schools for 21 years. He had had also worked on the family dairy farm and was always wiling to help in the Burbank Community where needed. He enjoyed his morning coffee gathering with the Burger King boys and enjoyed restoring, and collecting Alis Chalmers tractors. He loved going to the Gathering of the Orange and Feature Alis Chalmers shows and he loved to mow yard. Harold was a quiet man with a big heart who loved his family and will be missed.
Surviving are his wife, the former Sandra Faye Williams who he married on Nov. 22, 1975; his children, Becky (Robin) Roberts of Lodi, Brenda Haas of Medina, Jeff Stephens of Columbus, Kerry Turner of South Euclid, Lori Stephens of Westfield Center and Jolene (Brian) Sachara of Creston; 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Harriet Franks.
Services will be Wednesday, Nov. 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. Travis McKenzie officiating. Burial will be in Burbank Cemetery.
