Harold Gene George, 89, of Seville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023 after a lengthy illness.
Gene was born on April 28, 1934 in Wadsworth to Carl and Georgia Anna (Schaub) George. He was a 1952 graduate of Wadsworth High School and attended Akron University. On Dec. 17, 1954 he married Ida B. Moyer, and was called to serve in the U.S. Army where he served from 1957 – 1959. Gene first retired from Technocast in Orrville in 1996 and then from Luke Engineering in Wadsworth in 2008. He was an active member of Crossroads Assembly of God in Creston and had enjoyed playing golf and bowling.
Surviving is his wife, Ida of nearly 69 years; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Denise George of Akron; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Tim Baker of Seville; grandchildren, Ryan and his wife Ashley Baker, Victoria George and Sarah George and great-grandchildren, Liam and Quinn Baker.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leroy.
Services will be Saturday, Sept. 23rd at 4:00 p.m. at Crossroads Assembly of God in Creston with Pastor Mike Boggs officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until time of service on Saturday at the church. Burial will be Monday at 10:45 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Assembly of God, 10220 Wooster Pike, Creston, OH 44217. Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements.
