Thomas Messenger, 77, of Wooster, passed away, Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster after a lengthy illness.
He was born Jan. 26, 1943 in Norwich, NY and was named Gordon Thomas Messenger by his parents the late Leroy J. and Veronica G. (Tryon) Messenger. Tom served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 – 1963 having served in Vietnam. He had been an over the road truck driver for many years and was a member of Truck Drivers Local 407 and Local 507. Tom enjoyed working on cars, fishing, reading, gardening and country music.
Surviving are his wife, the former Patricia S. Parsons who he married on April 1, 1988 in Fayetteville, TN; their daughter, Carrie Messenger of the home and special friends, Willie Towler and Linda Stevens-Butts.
Friends may call on Thursday, July 9th from 10:00-10:30 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. Services will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Please honor Tom by dressing casual and instead of sending flowers, make a donation to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.
