Gideon John Guenther

Gideon John Guenther, 16, of Apple Creek, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 13, 2020.

Gideon was born Aug. 28, 2004 in Columbus to John Richard and Carrie Chandler (Maring) Guenther.  He was a Junior at Waynedale High School where he was an Honor Student and was a member of the Track and Cross Country Teams, Band, Choir and Drama. Gideon was a talented musician that played the bass, trombone and piano and played in the Tri-County Band, the Wooster Community Band and the Kroc Center Band in Ashland.  Gideon was a member of the West Hill Baptist Church Family where he was a member of the Youth Worship Team and the Orchestra and had participated in mission trips and camps. He and his family had made their home in Wayne County for the past 11 years having lived in Apple Creek for the past 5 years.

Gideon is survived by his parents, John and Carrie; grandparents, Harry and Sandra Guenther of Creston, Winifred and William Kindig of Sylvania, OH and Tom and Barb Maring of Marion, IA; uncles and aunts, Scott and Tammy Maring and their sons, Matthew and Christopher of Cincinnati and Dan and Maribell Kinijorski of Clarksville, TN and many friends and family members that loved him.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Nov.17th from 2-5 p.m. at West Hill Baptist Church, 2241 Mechanicsburg Rd., Wooster, Oho were services will be held at 5:00 p.m. following the visitation.  Revs. Eric Fairhurst, Andrew Rogers and Zach Swift officiating.  Private family burial services will be held on Wednesday at Fredericksburg East Cemetery.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com  Memorial contributions may be made to the Waynedale Music Boosters, 9050 Dover Rd., Apple Creek, OH 44606.
